If you’ve seen my previous post Updating the Master bath and Declawing the Claw foot tub you’d know this is not at all how the Master turned out! We lived with it like this for 2 years (without a sink!). Something just wasn’t sitting right with me. The Master felt so sterile and eventually that shiplap wall we installed started to bubble along the edges due to hot showers and not having a ceiling exhaust fan installed. After years of thinking on it, I realized that although this house is actually on a Farm, It wasn’t really a Farmhouse and my Foursquare (with stained glass windows and chandelier’s dripping with crystals) was screaming at me for some more Fancy! So, I tried to accommodate her. First we ripped down that shiplap wall and installed new Drywall and continued the bottom shiplap around the room. I then painted the upper walls with Sherwin Williams Alabaster. Its a beautiful creamy white with slight yellow beige undertones that compliment the woodwork nicely. Then I used Sherwin Williams Storm Cloud Gray for the bottom half. Since we already had light gray tile from the first remodel, we weren’t about the remove it. I chose Storm cloud gray because although gray, it really has hazy green tones that lend a moody quality to the dark gray and still matches with the tile.

We’ll start with the wayyyy back BEFORE picture

I finally Decided on a sink and Vanity I wanted (Very exciting since we had been brushing our teeth in the downstairs half bath for 2 years).

As luck would have it, I was able to find the perfect size so we could buy a pre made Marble countertop instead of having it specially made which was way more expensive! I refinished this Dresser and mirror by removing the paint and sanding. It turned out beautifully!

We decided on Carrara Marble we found at Menards and this vintage inspired faucet (found on Amazon) to match the shower surround.

I was able to purchase this antique cabinet from an auction that fit perfectly in the corner for storage.

I ordered this amazing Turkish rug from Etsy

And here she is finished. Trust me when I say, I would have loved to not have a shower surround but since this is our only bathing room, it just wasn’t practical. There’s no way my Husband would have sat down to hand shower everyday lol
