Its been a few weeks and our Kitchen is ALMOST complete! The Counter Tops will be installed next week! We have been rushing to get things done since my Husband has to return back to work soon (He’s a seasonal Carpenter) and let me tell you, its been crazy! After putting down the new floor, We were on to the Cabinets! Its a pretty horrible experience trying to install cabinets on old framed walls and uneven floors. My husband and I installed them by ourselves and let me just say, ” If you ever want to see if your marriage can withstand the test of time, Remodeling an old house with your spouse is the test!’ Lol! Luckily we love each other (Again anyway) ; ) Now the cabinets are up, (We’ll be installing open shelving on the sink wall) the floors are papered for protection and I can see how amazing my new Farm sink will look! Farm sinks can range anywhere between $500.00 up to the thousands! I had been searching ALLL… the buy and sell web sites for months because I wasn’t about to pay full price, HEY I’m (cheap) frugal! For the life of me I couldn’t find a deal anywhere until one magical evening we took a trip to Lowe’s for some clearance floor tile (More on that in the next post). I just happened to be minding my own business when I stumbled across a different clearance isle. Of course I made a bee line for it! Just your typical home improvement what not’s and then I approached the end of the isle. A sparkling, shimmery light shone down from above upon a large box. Upon closer review the picture showed a beautiful Farm sink. That’s right..The type of sink I had been searching for. The tag showed $800.00+ that was reduced down to just $200.00 due to a Customer return. Could it be!? Was it an error!? My breath caught in my chest and I excitedly called my Husband over to load it in the cart. He laughed at me as I half ran to the register guarding my newly found treasure like a prisoner protecting his food at chow time. The Cashier pulled out her wand. I held my breath and heard the dreaded BEEP. She exclaimed that it wasn’t ringing up and called the manager over.
(Now at this point I am fully prepared to start foaming at the mouth and will bite the hand that tries to take my $200.00 sink away from me) and to my surprise the Manager typed in a few numbers and my sink rang up for $200.00!! PHEW! I floated out the door with my Husband laughing the whole time : )
